GDI consultants met with representatives from the French Ministry of Ecology and the French Development Agency (AFD) to discuss the current status of the Initiative and to explore options for possible collaboration. The discussions focused on how green development certification would contribute to the CBD Strategy for Resource Mobilisation and where demand for this certification was likely to come from within voluntary, market processes.

The representatives of the Ministry of Ecology requested to join the GDI Advisory Group and to be kept informed about developments including the forthcoming working papers. The representative of AFD stated that they would be interested in exploring further how they might support activities under a pilot phase which would test the GDI approach through field-based design and impementation of certified management plans.
