Workshop on piloting the GDI

GDI consultants and representatives of the Government of the Netherlands met with the represenatives of Solidaridad to explore opportunities to collaborate on the development of the GDI pilot programme. The dicussions focused on how biodiversity-responsible land management might enhance sustainability and livelihoods in productive areas in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The workshop also discussed further what is meant by biodiversity-resposible land management and how this might faciliate increased financing for rural farmers.

The outcomes of the workshop included an agreement to develop Project Information Notes (PINs) for up to 4 areas representing different ecosytems, land uses and land tenure systems. (The lastest guidance on developing a PIN is available in the GDI Library.)
