GDI

Conserving our planet, hectare by hectare

The Green Development Initiative (GDI) is an international response to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. It aims to establish an international standard and certification scheme for CBD-compliant land management. In so doing, GDI certification will facilitate increased private sector support for conservation and development on the ground.

(Note: The webpages under Certification, Library and Pilots are based on Version 0 of the GDI Reference Guide which was under review through the end of 2011.)
